John David Disney's Obituary
John David Disney, 77, of Decatur passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 in his home.
John was born on August 25, 1938 in Decatur the son John J. and Evelyn I. (Teeters) Disney. He was retired national sales manager for A.W. Cash Valve. He was a member of Ss. James & Patrick Parish. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Very Rev. Jeremiah Murphy Assembly #211, Darrell Beck Council #577, and was former financial secretary for the Knights of Columbus. He married Connie Collins on November 24, 1957 in Decatur.
Surviving are his wife Connie, son, David L. Disney (Ginny) of Decatur; daughter, Terri Heger (Pat) of Decatur; grandchildren, Courtney Heger-Long (Phil) of Decatur; Sarah Disney (Jackie) of Springfield; Stephanie Heger of Decatur; and great-grandchildren, Drake and Chase Long.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Diane Gregory.
The family would like to thank the DMH Hospice and Palliative Care for all their care.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 in St. Patrick Catholic Church with Rev. John Burnette as celebrant. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Tuesday in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with a Vigil Prayer service at 4:30 PM. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery and conclude with the “Flight Home” Ceremony. Memorials are suggested to Catholic Charities or the Decatur Fire Department.
