John G. Dratwick's Obituary
John George Dratwick, 84, of Decatur, IL, passed away August 13, 2018 at Hickory Point Christian Village in Decatur.
John was born June 24, 1934 in Decatur, IL, the son of Charles C. and Anna G. (Lotter) Dratwick. John was a veteran of the US Army.
John worked for many years as a railroad clerk for the Wabash and Norfolk Western Railroads. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and a member of the Railroad Retirment Club. He enjoyed Jazz music and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal and Chicago Bear’s fan. His famous quote was, “That’s some more of your damn business”.
Surviving are his nieces and nephews, Pamella Brunson of Irving TX, Jann Richmond (William) of Arlington, TX, Charles V. Dratwick (Tori) of Alvarado, TX Eric Carroll (Lynn) of Sycamore, IL, Gail Cook, Irving, TX, Cindy Barnett of Decatur, IL; numerous great nieces and nephews and 2 great-great nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by both of his parents; brother, Charles J. Dratwick; sister, Eunice A. Carroll and niece, Sherry Berry.
Graveside funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, August 17, 2018 at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30 PM – 1:45 PM Friday, August 17, 2018 at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home.
