John Willie Dyson, 85, passed away on June 21, 2026, in Decatur, IL.
John was born August 11,1940. In Ripley, Tennessee. Son of Willie Mack Dyson and Julia (Pugh)Dyson. John married Ruth (Tappler) Dyson. In their union were 6 children: Sterling Dyson of SC, Michael and Tony Dyson of Decatur, IL, Marshall Tyrone (Vicky) Dyson of TN, Tracy (Arlton) Johnson of Rosharon, Texas, Glenda Stitt of Decatur, IL. John was a member of the of Mount Zion Babtist Church. Where he served as a Deacon under the leadership of Pastor Robert White. John enjoyed reading his bible and watching sports. Surviving are his children and stepchildren: CarolynJ Smith of Champaign, Urbana, Patricia Jelks and Yvonne Ward of Dec, IL, Farris (Clifford) Manns of TN. He also leaves behind many grandkids and great-grandkids.
He was proceeded in death by his loving wife, parent and siblings nieces and nephews, 3 grandsons,1 great grandson, 3 stepchildren, Clyde ward Jr. Danny Ward and Opalean Calloway.
