Oh Kessingers, I am so sorry to hear about your dad. He was a wonderful and caring man, and his humor and kindness were felt by so many. Our families were so close in those growing up years, and after my dad died I often felt like he was my father figure. Julie's death was devastating to all of us, and I know he is now in heaven reunited with her and with Sally. We will miss him until we are all reunited for a family picnic one day.Love to you all! Our sympathy to John's family, he was a great guy. We met him at Borg-Warner Field and became quite good friends. He was always so nice to me, and always a gentlemen. Dave and i got a kick out of he and his buddies, "The Three Amigos"; John, Lee and Clarence. They had such fun at the games. He always took time to come and sit with us and get the scoop. RIP, John. Grandpa John was always kind to me. He gave me stock in ADM as a birthday present which fostered an interest in markets and investment that is still with me today. Years later, that stock helped fund my college education.I remember a time he took Charlie, Jack and myself out to breakfast in Decatur. So many people stopped at our table just to say hello to him – it was obvious how much he was admired and respected by his community. I think he leaves as legacies his kindness and the example he set as a respectable man and pillar of a great family.
