Decatur-John C. Maldaner, Jr., 84, of Decatur, passed away at 3:06 p.m. Sunday, January 23, 2011 at his home with his family by his side.

John was born January 13, 1927 in Springfield, the son of John Sr. and Katherine (Stout) Maldaner. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during W.W. II. He was previously employed as a salesman with Gates & Johnson Lumber Company. He was an avid gardener. He married Maxine Bartz June 9, 1951 in Springfield.
He leaves behind Maxine his beloved wife of over fifty-nine years, son; John C. Maldaner III and wife Loretta of Paducah, Kentucky and Brian M. Maldaner of Tucson, Arizona, brother; Gordon Maldaner of Decatur, sister; Lynne Truman of Springfield, and step-granddaughter; Monica.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
