I just learned of Johns passing. I am soo sorry, he was a wonderful man. I meet him at GB Oil,many many moons ago. I always got great personally by John, didn't matter how long it was between seeing him he still would remember you. We would bicker back and forth in fun. We would talk bout our familys, oh and how he would talk bout his grand babies. We always would joke he worked so much cause his wife would spend the money just as quick. But I know he enjoyed doing what he did and bring smiles to peoples faces. John will be greatly missed by many. My thoughts and prayers are going out to his wife and family. Your husband and father was a wonderful man!!!

John was a great guy. John was not the manager at Thorntons by his choice , but everone new that he was the one running that faility. John always took time to talk to me even when it was apparant that he had 100 other things going on. I will miss him very much. God bless you John !

I FIRST MEANT JOHN AT CUB FOODS IN DECATUR WHEN IT FIRST OPENED. I WAS ALSO ONE OF THE FIRST CUB EMPLOYEES. JOHN WAS ALWAYS KIND AND JOKING WITH EVERYONE. I AM SO VERY SORRY TO HEAR HE HAS LEFT US, AND I HOPE HE DID NOT SUFFER.

Hello from the Ferris family who lived next door to the Minotts on LaSalle Drive. Dike and I are the only ones left in Decatur. I remember John and the difficult time he had with his heart when he was young. He wasn't afraid to show the stitches and scars on his chest from his operation. Dennis and I remember fondly the lunches we had at your house during school since we didn't like the school lunches. Say hello to your mom. I remember playing with Dudley when we wre little kids. His mom and dad would visit my mom and dad and we would have a great time playing. As we got older and would run into each other he would always remind me to call him John not Dudley. But he will always be Dudley to me. Very sorry for your loss.
