John Allen Mize's Obituary
John Allen Mize, 67, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, December 25, 2021 at his home.
John was born in Decatur on February 27, 1954, the son of Harold and Lavina (Miller) Mize. He worked a variety of different occupations during his life, including driving a garbage truck. In his free time, he enjoyed fixing lawn mowers and talking on his CB radio. He considered the Salvation Army his church home. He married Linda Kiser on April 2, 1981 in Decatur.
John is survived by his wife Linda; children Kary (Jason) Askew, Max (Janine) Sweitzer, Jane Farmer, Lorina (Larry) Harl, Melinda (Mike) Mize-Milam, and Carol (Kaylen) Arnold; brother Francis “Dale” Mize; and grandchildren Max, Lakota, Addison, Abigail, Larry Jr., Cora, Brandon, Thomas, Katrina, Clay, Allison, Madilyn, and Mackenzie. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and three sisters.
