John Paul Pence's Obituary
John Paul Pence, 47, passed away Tuesday, November 26th, 2013.
John was born on August 20th, 1966 in Newport, Rhode Island, the son of George Pence and Doris (Jack) Sutherland.
John worked in various fields including construction and was most recently employed at Caterpillar. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on cars, wood-working and was an all around Jack-of-all-trades, a.k.a. MacGyver. You could have given John a 2X4, a roll of duct tape and a spool of fishing line, and he would have built you a boat.
John was preceded in death by his children, Thomas Wayne and Dana Marie Pence; and also his lifelong friend, Tony Mathes.
He is survived by his parents and Stepfather; siblings Kelly (Jim) Pence, Mike Pence, Sherrol (Alan) Knotts, and Mark (Casey) Sutherland; Step-sisters Aimee (Mike) Bradshaw and Missie Deaton; several nieces and nephews; his daughter Nichole (Shane) Smith; as well as many close friends and his faithful four-legged companion, Annie.
Memorials can be made to Ben’s Dream – The Sanfilippo Research Foundation, In Memory of Tommy and Dana Pence.
Memorial Service will be held at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home on Saturday, November 30th, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
