John C. Weinman's Obituary
John C. Weinman, 77, of Decatur, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his family.
John was born November 26, 1939, in Urbana, IL to Carl John and Virginia Doris (Perkins) Weinman. He attended the University of Illinois College of Law and graduated in 1964. He was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He was an accomplished lawyer with an article published in the Law Review. John retired from the State of Illinois Department of Employment Securities.  He married Linda Ray Loveall Melton on April 28, 1990, in Decatur, IL. John loved to golf, travel, Chicago Cubs, all Illini sports, but most of all, spending time with his grandkids.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; two sons, Alan (Tracy) Weinman of Lewisville, Texas and Dr. Eric (JoAnna) Weinman of Ada, Michigan; step-daughter, Cathy McCumber of Decatur, Illinois; daughter-in-law, Melissa Melton of Decatur, Illinois; ten grandchildren, Thomas, Dylon, Lucas, Kyle, Austin, Bekah, Zach, Chase, Dakota, Hannah; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Jim Weinman of Harrisburg, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one step-son, Jeff Melton and one sister-in-law, Lynda Weinman.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of John C. Weinman will be 2 p.m. Sunday, May 28, 2017, at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday before the service at the funeral home.
