Johnnny Green Turner's Obituary
Johnny Green Turner, 78, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2013 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Johnny was born in Davenport, MS on December 21, 1934, the son of Jim and Bessie Mae “Big Momma” Turner. He was previously employed with the National Baking Company of Chicago. He enjoyed hunting for squirrels, raccoons, fishing and loved cooking. He also loved his blues music, especially B.B. King. He married Beatrice Thomas in July of 1954.
He leaves behind his wife Beatrice Turner of Decatur, daughters Betty (Andres) Castillo of Houston, Texas and Brenda Jones of Chicago, IL, son Michael (Georgia) Turner of Decatur, IL, sister Cathy Garrison of Memphis, TN, grandchildren Shaun Turner, Angela Turner, Kimberly Turner, and Sharon Jones, great-grandchildren Rechelle, Cardell, Akira, and Ahkeem, great-great grandchildren Tyrelle, Travelle, Denali, Tatyana, Keimani, Travaris, sister-in-law Abbie Mae Hall and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Denzel Turner, Will Turner, Frank Turner, Jimmie May Anderson, and Charlie T. Burton.
