Johnny LeRoy LeHew's Obituary
Decatur-Johnny LeHew, 67, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2014 in his home.
Johnny was born June 19, 1947 in Decatur, Illinois, the son of LeRoy and Esther LeHew. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He married E. Jeannette Tarrant on November 8, 1968 in Long Beach, CA. He retired as a pipefitter after thirty years of service with Tate and Lyle. He was very involved with his local union brothers and sisters. What he enjoyed most after retiring was the time spent working diligently as the building manager at the A.I.W. Hall.
Johnny leaves behind his daughters Mindy Boyster and husband Todd and Trisha Heft and husband Erick all of Decatur, son Marty LeHew and wife Jenny of Assumption, sister Linda Waite of Sullivan, three grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two nieces, two nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, wife, grandparents, and brother Jack LeHew.
Graveside services with military honors to celebrate Johnny’s life will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home.
