Jordan Greggory Garrett's Obituary
Jordan Greggory Garrett arrived March 14, 2012, greeted by his elated parents, Laurel Phipps and Richard Garrett. With a head of soft, beautiful hair and a perfect little face, he was welcomed home by big brother Kyler and big sister Kaylin. Family and friends stopped by to meet Jordan, marveling at his smiles and taking turns holding him, while Mom and Dad basked in the happiness he brought to their hearts and the completeness he brought to their family. The Garrett household was overflowing with love and joy, as they delighted in the wonderment of this precious little miracle. But nobody knew that Jordan would only be with us for a painfully short time. Our hearts were shattered when, resting in his parents' arms, Jordan returned to heaven on March 29, 2012. While we will never understand why he had to go, we do know that he is now in God's arms, which is the only place he could possibly be more loved than he was right here with us.
Jordan leaves behind his grieving parents, siblings Kyler and Kaylin, grandparents Carol (Bob) Vogel, Ron (Sheryl) Garrett and Patty Phipps (Ben Henderson); great-grandparents Robert and Peggy Garrett, Helen Scheibly and Mary Lou Phipps, aunts Racheal Garrett, Jessica Phipps, Michelle Vogel and Christine Vogel, uncles Robbie Garrett, Colton Phipps, Josh Levar and Jason Levar, as well as numerous other family members. He was welcomed into heaven by his brother Korbin Phipps-Garrett, his grandfather Gregg Phipps, and great-grandparents, Rosemary and Jake Scheibly, Chester 'Vernon' Morgan and Lowell Phipps.
Services for Jordan will be held at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Dave Taylor, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Entombment will be in Star of Hope Mausoleum and conclude with the 'Flight Home' Ceremony. Memorials may be made to the family.
Jordan's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the incredible staff at St. John's Children's Hospital. Their professionalism and sincere love for children helped us persevere through an event that no parent should ever have to endure. We also thank the multitude of family and friends who held us up with loving arms and non-stop prayers throughout Jordan's last days. As one of Jordan's doctors put it, 'Jordan experienced more love in fourteen days than many people experience in a lifetime.'
We will miss you terribly, Jordan. You have left us with empty arms and anguished hearts, but we will never forget the blessings we received from knowing you and loving you.
