Joseph John Kaczmar Jr.'s Obituary
Joseph John Kaczmar Jr, passed away on April 16, 2023 in Fort Wayne, IN.
Joseph was born to Joseph Sr. and Anna Kaczmar on June 25, 1939, in Gary, IN and grew up in Chicago, IL. He served in the United States Army from 1962 to 1968. He married Wanda Sue Bates on October 30, 1965, at the Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church in Chicago, IL.
Joseph was a member of the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception in Fort Wayne, IN. He was also part of the Amateur HAM Radio Association. His call letters with radio were K9BLY for over 60 years. He was an avid fisherman, who enjoyed camping and boating. In his later years he learned how to play the guitar and liked to spend time working in the garden and yard.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Wanda Kaczmar, daughters, Diane Bowers, Jeanette (Pat) Gooch; siblings Vincint Kaczmar, Joanne (Andy) Watson; grandchildren, Bryce Mullins, Noah Bowers, Nicholas Bowers; dog, Carmine, and many extended family and friends.
Joseph is preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Norma Kaczmar.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home with a visitation an hour prior.
