Joseph Knott's Obituary
Decatur – Joseph B. “Joe” Knott, 72, of Decatur, passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021, at HSHS St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL.
Joe was born July 29, 1949, in Decatur, IL, the son of Joseph and Marie (Gage) Knott. He was an entrepreneur owning and operating Central Illinois Ceiling and Interiors for 50 years. Joe was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Masonic Lodge, and the Shrine. He married Karla S. Ballard on May 28, 1971, in Morris, IL.
Surviving is his wife, Karla of Decatur; daughters: Krista (Michael) Kirk of St. Louis, MO, and Amanda Knott of Decatur; grandson, Hunter Kirk; sisters: Lois Fanti of Ottawa, IL, and Judy Conrad of Utica, IL; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Monday, November 15, 2021, from 2 am until the funeral liturgy time of 3 pm, at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Special Olympics or Shriners Hospital. Casual attire is requested.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Jimmy Knott and George Knott and sisters: Jody Leschewski and Theresa Knott.
