Joshua Matthew Orr, 20, of Decatur, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2018, in his home.
Josh was born August 24, 1997, in Normal, IL to Jeffrey Michael and Debbie Leanne (Morgan) Orr.
Growing up, Josh was always active in sports. He played T-ball and baseball when he was a kid, and loved football and basketball as well. He went to the YMCA and was such a happy and cute baby boy. He always loved swimming and being outside. Josh grew up around a lot of animals, and had a soft spot for cats like his momma. He leaves behind his puppy Peanut and all the cats he has been around the past few years.
Through elementary and middle school, Josh attended Stevenson, Parsons and Steven Decatur. He graduated from Decatur MacArthur in 2015. He excelled in all his classes, he was such a bright young man. From there he went to Richland to pursue a career in the health field as a CNA. Josh loved helping others, he was always trying to make people laugh, and always had a smile on his face. He worked at several nursing homes and was currently employed at McKinley court care center. He also previously worked at McDonald’s where his coworkers described him as “the reason McDonald’s was fun”. Josh was always joking around, quoting lyrics and having a good time.
Josh loved to travel outside of his hometown. He loved California, New Orleans and was a big fan of the beach. He was a “fish like his dad”. He also enjoyed spending time with his daughter, playing video games, hanging out with friends, music, shoes, jewelry and “swagg”. Josh truly was a beautiful soul. He always had a plan. He just wanted happiness for himself and all the others around him. “Live your life like we die when the world ends” ❤️
