Joyce Elaine Holliday's Obituary
Joyce Elaine Holliday of Decatur, IL, passed away on June 20, 2026, at home surrounded by loved ones.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to “Refuge Ranch, Inc.” located at 9350 Cascade Rd, Rochester, IL 62563.
Joyce was born on February 24, 1945, in Decatur, IL, to Jesse and Marjorie (Cornthwaite) Workman. She faithfully served for 45 years as an employee of Dr. Michael Clark, Podiatrist in Decatur.
She enjoyed reading, working on jigsaw puzzles, and cross stitching. Joyce especially enjoyed spending time with friends at “Just Horsing Around” equine stables with her beloved horse, Abbie. She had a special fondness for animals, particularly horses and dogs.
She is survived by her son, Ron Holliday of Springfield, IL; her sister, Donna (Wayne) Hayes of Macon, IL; her brother, Dale (Linnie) Workman of Long Creek, IL; her nephew, Brian Hayes; and her nieces, Marcy (Workman) Jackson and Laurie (Workman) Opperman.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Gerald Workman.
Joyce will be remembered for her spirited opinion and well-placed loyalty.
