Judith "Judy" Ann Patterson's Obituary
Judith (Judy) Ann Patterson, 65, of Decatur, IL went to be with the Lord on April 16, 2024.
Judy was born April 23, 1958. Daughter of Roy Lee Thompson and Sandra (Crutchfield) Melton. Her early years and fondest memories were spent with her cousin Carol, at their grandparents' home in the country. She often told stories from that time, speaking with love and appreciation for her grandparents.
Judy spent most of her years working as an in-home health care worker. She loved to draw, travel and experience new things. She wasn't afraid of anything. From the fastest roller coaster to the tallest zip line. She was always ready for an adventure, wanting to live life to its fullest, even willing to embarrass herself to make others happy.
Judy had four children. She leaves behind her daughters Heather Austin (John); Candaice Astramsky (David); her son Robert Austin (Rachel).
Judy lived for her grandkids. They were her pride and joy. She leaves behind her grandsons Cody Hobbs, Alex Hobbs, Dylan Hobbs, Kayden Austin; her granddaughters Haley Astramsky, Makayla Austin, Makenzie Austin.
Judy is also survived by her brothers Aaron Willis, Rodney Thompson, Timothy Thompson; her sisters Sandy Reynolds (Doc), Mona Nyman. Many nieces and nephews. Many cousins who affectionately referred to her as “Judy Bell”.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Dawn Briggs, her parents, grandparents, and many special aunts and uncles.
Special thanks to her friend John for being there, supporting her in times of need.
Judy will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She touched the lives of so many and will forever be cherished in our hearts.
