Judith L. Bennett's Obituary
Springfield – Judith L. Bennett, 79, of Springfield passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2016 in Memorial Medical Center.
Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., Monday April 4, 2016 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Springfield. Visitation will be Sunday, April 3, 2016 from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home; with the Divine Mercy Prayer starting at 2:30. An additional visitation will take place Monday, April 4, 2016 from 9:00 until the time of the Mass at the church. Burial will take place in Camp Butler National Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Agnes Catholic Church.
Judy was born July 14, 1936 in Petersburg, IL, the daughter of John and Marguerite (Heflin) Rebbe. Judy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Judy retired after 30 years of service from Caterpillar. She was a member of the UAW Local 751 and was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. Judy was a lifelong avid Cub fan. She married Gary E. Bennett on March 1, 1969 and he preceded her in death on Jan. 25, 1998.
Judy was also preceded in death by her parents, husband, son- Tommy Simmons, and twelve brothers and sisters.
Judy is survived by her daughters- Theresa (Dan) Smith of Nederland, CO, Catherine Simmons of Chicago, Rita (Scott) North of Phoenix, AZ, and Elizabeth Simmons McCoy of Springfield, son- Gary E. Bennet, II and friend Carol Rozanski of Mt. Zion; brother- Larry Rebbe of Ashland, sisters- Sister Charlotte Rebbe of Springfield and Connie Stuhmer of Petersburg, grandchildren- Anne (Santee) Nixon, Justin (Lauren) Agans, Tyler Smith and Travis Smith and great-grandchildren- Liam Nixon, Jude Nixon, River Nixon, Braeden Smith and soon to be born baby Agans and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
