Judith Ann Stowell's Obituary
Decatur- Judith Ann Stowell, 71, of Decatur passed away at 10:41 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Decatur Memorial Hospital with her family at her bedside.
Services to celebrate Judy's life will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 28, 2011 at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1177 W. Hickory Point Road, with Pastor Tim Crump officiating. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at the church. Interment with 'Flight Home' Ceremony will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to First Church of the Nazarene Helping Hands. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting the family with these arrangements. Judy was born October 6, 1939 in Decatur, the daughter of Ralph and Sula (Robinson) Holmes. She was previously employed as a daycare provider out of her home for many years. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Judy enjoyed camping, sewing, game shows, and drag racing. She married Patrick Stowell October 6, 1956.
She leaves behind Patrick, her beloved husband of over fifty-four years, children, Rodney Stowell and wife Lisa of Springfield, Laura Franz and husband Aaron of Carlock, Bryan Stowell and wife Lynn Dee of Decatur, and adopted daughter Cheryl Hubner and husband Rudy of Oreana, grandchildren, Jordan Stowell, Auden Stowell, Braden Stowell, Danielle Franz, Kaleb Hubbard, William Dane, and Jack Dane, adopted grandchildren, Erik and Zac Hubner, sisters, Jackie Roderick and Shirley Gaines, and several nieces and nephews.
She was reunited in Heaven with her parents and sister, Imogene Kirkland.
