Judy Carol Urquhart's Obituary
Judy Carol Urquhart, 78, of Decatur, Illinois, passed away May 13, 2025, at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Judy was born in Decatur on November 30, 1946, the daughter of Frank Justice and Mildred (Hooper) Justice. She married James Urquhart on July 31, 1966, in Decatur. She was an accomplished accountant, a position she held at the Decatur Herald & Review and later at the Decatur Sanitation Department.
Judy was an avid gardener who enjoyed tending to her many flowers. She was an outstanding shopper who delighted in finding clothes and shoes to fill “Judy’s Closet” to the brim. She enjoyed traveling whenever she could. Most of all, Judy loved her family. Judy and her husband Jim were inseparable, and together they cherished every moment they spent with their beloved family. She will be greatly missed by those who loved her.
Judy is survived by her husband of over 58 years, Jim; son Robby (Holly) Urquhart of Decatur; siblings Dixie (Bob) Hedden of Decatur, Glenda (Melvin) Strode of Decatur, and Shirley (Bob) Elmore of Florida; grandchildren Hannah Urquhart and Abigail Urquhart; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Rosie Fair.
Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home is providing cremation services for Judy. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2pm on Friday, May 23, at the funeral home.
