June Elizabeth Coleman's Obituary
June Elizabeth Coleman, 92, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday morning, May 30, 2017, at her home.
June was born November 14, 1924, in Decatur, IL to Clarence and Edna (Cameron) Hicks. She married Dale Coleman on September 9, 1946, in Decatur. He passed away May 19, 2005. June worked for the State of Illinois in Employment Services for many years. She was a member of First Congregational Church, Kiwaniannes and Pearl Harbor Survivors and Spouses. June enjoyed golfing, sewing, but most of all, spending time with her family.
She is survived by her two daughters, Debbie Woodard of Murfreesboro, TN and Karen (Robert) Fuller of Decatur, IL; five grandchildren, Ashley, Drew, Chelsea Woodard, Jennifer McKay and Amanda (Selso) Urcino; two great-grandchildren, Cruz and Adriana; one brother, James (Donna) Hicks of South Bend, IN; one sister, Barbara (Ronald) Clough of Cleveland, TN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale; six brothers and three sisters.
The family would like to give special thanks to her two nieces, Sheila Witts-Mannweiler and Nancy Hicks, CHELP and DMH Hospice Care for their compassion and care.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of June Coleman will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 2, 2017, at First Congregational Church with the Rev. Ryan Travis, officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at the church before the service. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to First Congregational Church.
