Kaleb Hall Leevey's Obituary
Kaleb Hall Leevey, 22 of Mattoon, Illinois left this earth unexpectedly on February 21, 2023. He was 22 years old. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by his death. Kaleb was born on February 13, 2001.
Kaleb is survived and missed by his loving parents Kenneth W. Leevey Jr. and Lori A. (Mike) Holmes. Forever loved and cherished by his siblings Ryan Leevey and Kayla (Ian) Marsh. His nieces, Alyne Kristina, Kensey Noel and Lilian Ann. His paternal grandmother, Marjorie A. (Hall) Leevey and maternal grandfather, James R. Ballard. Kaleb’s family will cherish his memory for all of their days. His aunts & uncles, Dan (Jenifer) Leevey, Missy Davis, Cindy (Greg) Long, Jeanette Knutt, Tracie Carter and many cousins will forever miss his incredible kindness and his beautiful soul.
Kaleb was proceeded in death by his paternal grandfather Kenneth W. (PaPa) Leevey, Sr. and his maternal grandmother Charlene Y. (Grandma) Ballard.
He was born and raised in Decatur, Illinois, where he graduated from Eisenhower High School in 2019. He was most recently employed by Justrite Manufacturing in Mattoon, Illinois. His family was extremely proud of his work ethic and the man he had become.
In his spare time, Kaleb enjoyed hanging out with his friends & family, playing video games, and watching Chicago Cubs baseball and Illinois basketball with his dad. He loved animals; especially, “Crispy” his favorite pet cat of many years. He was especially known for his quick-witted sense of humor and his big bear hugs.
His legacy will carry on forever, reminding us to be kind to each other, as he had affectionately become known as a “Gentle Giant”. A young man with a “giant” heart gone much too soon. He will be forever loved and missed.
A visitation for Kaleb will be held on Monday February 27, 2023, from 6-8pm at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home. A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday February 28, 2023, at 10 am. A burial will follow at Salem Cemetery in Elwin Il.
