Karen "Jeanie" Bonnett's Obituary
Karen Jean Bonnett, 60, of Decatur, passed away Friday August 5, 2016, at Shelbyville Manor, surrounded by her family,
Jeanie was born September 29, 1955, in Decatur, to Bill Lee and Phyllis Joan (Brockway) Eckart. She married Daniel Bonnett. He passed away July 16, 2012. Jeanie was devoted to her family and loved spending time with them.
She is survived by her three children, Richard (Jerri) Morlan of Blue Mound, Lori Morlan of Decatur and Ryan (Kristi) Morlan of Dalton City; one step- daughter, Laura (Bonnett) Greenleaf of Decatur; her mother, Phyllis (Gene) Eckart Burns of Macon; nine grandchildren, Kylar, Austin, Jordan, Alyssa, Ava, Olivia, Aliyah, Maximus and Maggie; one brother, Stevie (Terry) Eckart of McMinnville, TN; two sisters, Janet (Charles) Bentley of Decatur and Kimberly (Michael) Tolly of Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bill; her husband, Daniel; one daughter, Mandi Morlan; one brother, Billy Eckart and two sisters, Sharon Pressley and Connie Sue Eckart.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Shelbyville Manor and Dr. Arnold Agapito.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Jeanie Bonnett will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2016, at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home before the service. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
