Karen Irene Buechsenschuetz's Obituary
Decatur – Karen Irene Buechsenschuetz, 71, of Decatur, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016.
Karen was born February 14, 1945 in Hillsboro, IL, the daughter of Oral Clayton and Alice Belle (Hill) Sanders. A member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Karen was a homemaker and worked as a Travel Agent for many years for Franklin Travel. She loved traveling and flower gardens. She married Robert “Bob” Buechsenschuetz in Nokomis, IL on March 19, 1966.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving is her husband, Bob of Decatur; son, Stephen (Heather) Buechsenschuetz of Oblong; daughters: Natalie (Michael) Dudek of Orland Park, and Kristine (Timur) Buechsenschuetz-Jemal of Kyrenia, Cyprus; grandchildren: Lauren and Lindsey Dudek, and Taylan and Jeyda Jemal; brother, Murel Sanders of Witt; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 pm Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be 10 am Friday, April 22, 2016 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Decatur, following a one hour visitation at the church. A graveside service will follow at 2 pm at Nokomis Cemetery, Nokomis, IL. Memorials are suggested to Lutheran School Association or Alzheimer’s Association.
