Kathryn Eloise Beystehner's Obituary
Decatur-Kathryn Eloise (Rine) Beystehner, 101, of Decatur, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 in Fairhaven Christian Home.
Kathryn was born on October 4, 1911 in Villa Grove, the daughter of Rollen and Daisy (Fink) Rine. She graduated salutatorian from Villa Grove High School in 1929. She enjoyed a long career working as a supervisor at CNA Insurance. Kathryn had the opportunity to travel around the world visiting many countries citing Egypt as her favorite. She married Edward Beystehner on November 15, 1930. He preceded her in death in 1962.
Surviving are her nieces: Caryl Rine of Waukegan, Sheila (Cecil) Griffith of Decatur, Barbara (Wayne) Halverson of DeForest, Wisconsin, Sherry (John) Swanson of Plymouth, Minnesota, Kathleen Waggoner of Shelbyville, IL, several great nieces and nephews and special great-great-nieces and nephew: Gabrielle, Alyssa, Natalie, and Roman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers, and two sisters.
Kathryn touched many lives of family, friends, and coworkers.
The family would like to thank the staff of Fairhaven Christian Home for their exceptional care during the past year.
Services to celebrate Kathryn's life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2012 First United Methodist Church, 201 W North St. Decatur. Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
