Kay Ellen Dobler's Obituary
Decatur- Kay Ellen Dobler, 66, of Decatur, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur.
Kay was born August 19, 1949 in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of Arthur W. and Norma Jean (Boos) Dhermy. She was a sales associate with Walmart South for over seven years. She loved spending time with her grandson, working at Walmart, and playing Bunco.
Kay leaves behind Michele (Ed) Mehrhoff, grandson Ramon Mehrhoff, nephew Johnny Dhermy, beloved great-niece Avoree Dhermy, best friends Carol and Ron McDermith, her Walmart South family, and beloved cats Lucky, Kitty, and Ming Ming.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents and former husband Harry A. Dobler.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Perry Guaglianone and the nurses and staff with Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois, Dr. Jacob Samuel and the nurses and staff with ICU at St. Mary’s, and everyone with Interventional Radiology at DMH.
Services to celebrate Kay’s life will be 10 AM Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Friday, January 29, 2016 at the funeral home. Entombment will be in the Mary Queen of Angels Garden Mausoleum at Graceland Cemetery. Memorials in Kay’s honor are suggested to Cancer Care Specialist of Central Illinois or Homeward Bound Pet Shelter.
