Keith E.L. Price's Obituary
Keith E. L. Price, 90, of Decatur, went to the loving arms of Jesus on Wednesday, December 7, 2016, with his wife at his side.
Keith was born on March 18, 1926, in Macomb, IL the son of Ralph L. and Violet I. (Sell) Price. He served his country proudly in the United States 5th Army engineering battalion during 1944-1945. Keith’s battalion marched in the National Victory Parade held in Chicago, IL at the end of World War II; President Harry Truman was in the reviewing stands. He began working for Caterpillar and later retired in 1980 as a tire scheduler. During his time at CAT he had the opportunity to ride in the Goodyear Tire Blimp when it flew to Decatur on a promotional tour. After retiring from CAT, Keith and his wife spent 25 winters “down in the valley” near Alamo, Texas. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church. Keith met the love of his life in high school while attending a missionary conference in her home town. He married Georgene Sarah McDowell on September 7, 1946, in Zion, IL. The love and devotion Keith and Georgene showed for each other during their 70 years of marriage was a great example for their family, and for all those privileged to know them. Keith and Georgene always had a sense of adventure, traveling to all 50 of the United States as well as to numerous foreign countries. They took their children on family vacations every year while they were growing up.
Surviving are his wife, Georgene Sarah Price of Decatur; daughter, Connie (Bob) Langlois of Vancouver ,WA; daughter, Suzi (Mark) Mehlig of O’Fallon, MO; daughter, Debby (Ivan) Witts of Decatur; grandchildren, Craig (Stacy) Witts, Jeremy (Jennifer) Witts, Tina (James) McWhorter, Sarah (Hai) Phan, Alicia Mehlig, Michael Langlois; seven great-grandchildren, Shannon, Olivia, Kaitlyn, McKinsey, Lincoln, Laura, Kole.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Marjorie Allison and great-grandson, Colin.

Funeral service to celebrate Keith’s life will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday December 10, 2016, in Riverside Baptist Church, 1250 West Mound Road, Decatur, IL. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, December 9, 2016, in Riverside Baptist Church. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard.
