Kenneth D. "Ken" Shadwell's Obituary
Decatur – Kenneth D. “Ken” Shadwell, 70, of Decatur, passed away Friday, August 25, 2017, in his home surrounded by loved ones.
Ken was born June 11, 1947, in Effingham, the son of Wesley L. and Ruth L. (Baker) Shadwell. Ken was a precision machinist and the owner/operator of “The Tool Shop”. He was an avid fisherman, loved the outdoors and spending time with family, especially his grandsons. He married Patricia Ann “Pat” Braun August 6, 1966, in Effingham.
Ken is survived by his wife, Pat, of Decatur; daughters: Missy A. (Brian) Koning of Lincoln and Debbie K. (Scott) Tague of Decatur; grandsons: Matthew and Michael Tague and Luke and Max Koning; mother, Ruth Shadwell, of Effingham; brother, Richard L. (Connie) Shadwell, of TN; mother-in-law, Mildred Braun, of Effingham; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Ken was preceded in death by his father and father-in-law, Clarence “Bud” Braun.
Memorial services to celebrate Ken’s life will be 2 pm, Tuesday, August 29, 2017, in the Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home; visitation will begin one hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois, Decatur office.
