Kenneth D. Lourash's Obituary
Kenneth D. Lourash, 79, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 9:34 P.M. on Saturday July 27, 2024, in his home.
Kenneth was born on August 29, 1944, in Long Creek, Illinois, the son of George Edward Lourash and Ione Hope (Coward) Lourash. He married Mary Sue Frazier on January 14, 1972, in Decatur, IL. She preceded him in death on July 20, 2007.
Kenneth served his country in the United States Navy as an Engineman Second Class. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving from 1964-1974. He was on the USS Vulcan (AR-5). He was honorably discharged in March of 1974. He started working at Caterpillar in 1974 and after 30 years retired in 2007. Kenneth enjoyed fishing, bingo, bowling, country music, and spending time with his family, especially grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.
He is survived by his son: Kenneth W. Lourash of Decatur, IL; daughters: Wendy Frazier Mariner and husband Dan of Decatur, IL, and Donna Lourash Tucker and husband Gene of Decatur, IL; sister: Kathy Miller of Pana, IL; many grandchildren and many more great-grandchildren.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother, three sisters and one grandson.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors.
Graveside services will be held at 12:30 P.M. Friday (08-16-2024) at Graceland Cemetery with a Celebration of Life potluck dinner at Spitler Woods State Park enclosed pavilion Mt. Zion, IL, immediately following the graveside service.
