Kenneth B. Moser died on December 7 with family at his side. He lived a long full life. Born in Malverne, NY, to Frieda and Erwin Moser, he graduated from Tusculum College. He earned his PhD in chemistry at Duke University where Read Obituary
I’ve know Ken and his wife Betty since 1990…Ken (along with Betty) were big supporters of the Decatur Running Club. I always remember Ken running the Whitmore Classic 10 mile race…no one ran it more than him. He and Betty volunteered at many race…and he supported all the runners. His smile and warm will be missed by all the runners in the Decatur area.
I was privileged to have known Ken and his family a few years. He was a wonderful, honest, kind man with great humor and compassion. He remains a role model for how to live a full and graceful life. He made a positive impact on the world around him and will be missed. My thoughts and best wishes go out to his family and friends.
Howard and I were saddened to learn of Ken’s passing. We enjoyed his kind spirit and his friendliness. Ken was always so gracious to us. We loved playing bridge with Ken and you, Betty. We were not the greatest bridge players but you made us feel comfortable. Ken always had a smile for everyone and never forgot a name. What a joy it was to know him.
Betty and family,Betty I worked with you and Ken in the research lab at Staley’s. I work out of the storeroom . Ken was a great person. I had a lot of chats with him over the few years I worked there.I am sorry for your loss.

Dear Betty,I’m sending thoughts and prayers from my mother, Marian Simpson, and I. My mother so enjoyed her visits with you and Ken when she was visiting from New York State. She admired his artwork and the wonderful breakfast or lunch you shared with her. She is living over at Primrose but struggles to remember some things, but I know she always remembers kindness and Ken sure was a kind and gentle person.
Betty, Lyle notified me of Ken’s passing. I am so sorry for your loss. And glad you have so many fine memories of these past 61 years. I am thinking of you at this difficult time.
To the Moser Family: Sorry to hear of your loss keeping your family in our thoughts and prayers! Ken was guy we always thought of as Mr Garden sharing his knowledge and experiences always helping someone make their garden better!
Every time Brenda and I would have the occasion to be in the company of Ken and Betty we would come away with a feeling that we weren’t doing enough to get the most out of our lives. Our condolences to you, Betty, and to your family. We are lucky to have known Ken and to have been influenced by his life, his wit and his encouragement to keep running and to keep smiling.What a man!
I met Ken & Betty when I began showing vegetables at the State Fair in 1985. Ken gave me advice & tips as I was just a beginner with 2 entries. I am from Chicago and even though we only saw each other once a year at the Fair, we became friends & enjoyed talking gardening & all kinds of topics. He really did live a full life! Thank you to Ken & Betty for their friendship. I will miss seeing Ken at the Fair. My sincere condolences to Betty & family. God bless you all!
