Kimberly Ernst's Obituary
Kimberly Michelle Ernst, 55, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026, in Forsyth, IL.
She was born in Decatur on August 6, 1970, to the late Gerald Bayless and Barbara Reich Bayless. Kim worked for most of her life as an LPN and used these skills to volunteer with the American Red Cross.
Whether it was walking in the park, riding her bike, or watching the geese and hummingbirds, Kim loved to spend time outside. When she had to be indoors, she brought the view with her, filling her home with well-tended flowers and plants. She also enjoyed traveling, making many trips with her loved ones to Lake Tahoe as well as Tiki Island, Texas.
In addition to her own parents, she is preceded in death by her parents-in-law, Kathryn & Charles L. Ernst, and brother-in-law, Bradlee Ernst.
Those left to cherish her memory include: loving husband, Lyndell Ernst; stepdaughters, Kristy Wilhelm and Amy (Andy) Day; brothers, Kevin (Angela) Bayless and Jeff (Amy) Bayless; sister-in-law, Jill (Sammy) Bova; grandchildren, Audry (Michael) Fisher, Carly Hott, Colten (Carlee) Day, and Riley (Lizzie) Day; as well as six greatgrandchildren.
Friends and family may pay their respects from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Kimberly will be laid to rest in Graceland/Cemetery in a private family ceremony.
