Kurt Hubner's Obituary
Decatur–Kurt Hubner, 36, of Decatur passed away on Friday, December 16, 2011 in his home surrounded by his family.
Kurt was born on April 2, 1975, in Decatur the son of Rudy and Ginny (Jeffers) Hubner. He was a driver for UPS and a member of People's Church of God. He was an official for IHSA and JFL football. He was also very involved with Decatur Youth Hockey Association. He married Shellie Wools on November 6, 1999 in Decatur.
Surviving are his wife, Shellie; children; Hallie and Kody Hubner; father, Rudy Hubner (Cheryl) of Oreana; mother, Ginny Bunton (Paul) of Mt. Zion; grandmothers, Marjorie Hubner of Tower Hill; Vera Lu Jeffers of Shelbyville; sister, Kari Hamilton (Shawn) of Springfield; brothers, Zac Hubner (Amanda) of Quincy; Erik Hubner (Terah) of La Vergne, TN; stepbrothers, Brian Bunton (Diane) of Shelbyville; step-sister; Shawn Gardner (Don) of Shelbyville; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral service to celebrate Kurt's life will be 10 am Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at People's Church of God with Pastor Joe Drew officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 pm Monday at the church. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery and conclude with the 'Flight Home' ceremony. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society or Decatur Christian Schools for the education fund of his children.
