Kyle R. Jenkins' Obituary
Kyle R. Jenkins passed away on June 4, 2026, In Vandalia, Illinois after a long illness.
Kyle was born October 26,1964 to Ronald and Sharon {Dunham} Jenkins in Decatur.
He married Cris Cornthwaite on December 24, 2000. They had one child: his pride and joy, Kaitlin. Kyle was a major NASCAR fan. He raced street stocks at Macon, Jacksonville, Farmer City, and wherever he could. Him and his dad spent most of their time together building and working on his number 7 street stock. As he and his dad worked on his number 7, he loved having his Katymay along his side. Racing was a family event, and it brought all of them really close together. He worked for McCloud, Star, Dawson Farms, and other trucking companies.
Surviving Kyle is his wife of 25 years; daughter Kaitlin; brothers Kelly {Amy} Jenkins; brother Kevin and 2 nephews Tommy and John Jenkins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandmother, Elanor Dunham; his Uncle Howard and Aunt Betty Dunham.
At a later date, the family will have a celebration of life in Decatur for family and friends.
The family would like to thank Vandalia Healthcare and Senior living for the wonderful care they gave him.
