L. Florence Ossowski's Obituary
Forsyth – Lela Florence Ossowski, 85, of Forsyth, IL departed this life for eternal life on March, 15, 2017 surrounded by her loved ones.
Florence was born April 29, 1931 in Neoga, IL she was the daughter of Lela Hall Price and Alfred Hardesty. Florence married the love of her life, John Henry Ossowski on March 30, 1951. Florence is survived by her husband John Ossowski of Decatur, sons; Steven (Gail) Ossowski of Oregon City, OR, Johnny Wayne (Candy) Ossowski of Wes Plaines, MO, Troy (Christine) Ossowski of Decatur, half-brothers: Leo Hardesty of Neoga, IL, Jim (Deb) Hardesty of Neoga, IL, Bill (Karen) Hardesty of Neoga, IL, Jack Hardesty of Alton, IL, half-sisters: Dorothy (Jr) Harl of Windsor, IL, Mary (John) Herring of Neoga, IL, and step-brother Albert (Sally) Price of Mt. Zion, IL. Grandchildren: Lisa (Chris) Woods of Decatur, Randy Ossowski of St. Louis, MO, Zachary Ossowski of Decatur, Sesha Shonkwiler of Oreana, and great-grandchildren: Karly and Alex Woods of Decatur, Chyra and Loryn Shonkwiler of Oreana.
Florence devoted her life to caring for her children and grandchildren. She was a homemaker and taught Sunday school for many years at Water Street Christian Fellowship. Florence was a faithful servant of God. She was a former member at Water Street Christian Fellowship and a member at First Church of the Nazarene. Florence was the most kind, generous, and caring woman. Florence also had the gift of hospitality, opening her home and heart to many members of her family over the years. They included her mother Lela, father-in-law Bruno, sisters-in-law, cousins and nieces; as well as, four Mexican missionary girls who called her Momma Florence. Florence loved her husband and family dearly. She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 20, 2017, 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home with graveside services immediately following at Macon County Memorial Park Cemetery.
