Lander Blockton, Jr.'s Obituary
Lander Lee Blockton Jr, 55, of Decatur, IL, passed away on April 15, 2019 in his home. Lander, who was affectionately called “Junior”, was born to Lander Lee Blockton and Edna Mae Morris-Blockton on December 15, 1963, in St. Louis, Mo. He graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1982.
Everyone knew Lander’s passion was traveling and his family. Lander had a big heart and many were enriched with his love. He enjoyed watching baseball and baking. He loved his family and made it a priority to be in attendance of all of our special moments.
Left to cherish his memories are his sisters: Edna Gilchrist of Grand Prairie, TX; Cherry (John) Brewer-Laffoon and Lanella (Tommy) King of Decatur, IL; Special niece: Marlissa (Brian) Hill and their son Sebastian T. Hill of Decatur, IL; that he loved ever so much, nieces: CaSandra Blockton of Decatur, IL; and Ashley Whitman of Euless, TX; nephews: Damien Whitman of San Fransico, CA; Reginald & Darron Morris of St. Louis, MO; Ronnell Bennett of East St. Louis, MO; William and Tommy King, Christopher Brewer, of Decatur, IL; his favorite great niece: KaSina Blockton of Decatur, IL; and several other great nieces and nephews that he loved ever so much, as well. Lander was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Eric Blockton and sister; Barbara Morris and special great nephew: Christopher King.
Per his request, cremation rites were granted. Memorial services to honor and celebrate the life of Lander Lee Blockton, Jr, is being held at The Church of The living God, CWFF, 400 S. Franklin St on Thursday April 25, 2019, at 12:00 pm. The family is being served by Graceland/ Fairlawn Funeral Home. We would like to thank the staff at Davita Dialysis Center and Decatur Memorial Hospital for the care that they provided Lander Lee Blockton, Jr.
