Laney Maulden's Obituary
Michael “Laney” Maulden, 61, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his family.
Laney was born March 14, 1957, in Rantoul, IL, to Raymond H. and Rose (Rollinger) Maulden, Jr. His first 10 years of his life were spent in Terrance City, Alabama, which is when he fell in love with the Crimson Tide. He moved back to Decatur and graduated from Lakeview High School. After high school, he began his 43 year career with ADM/Stratas Foods. In his free time, Laney loved bowling, softball, fishing, boating, but most of all, spending time with his grandkids.
Laney is survived by his two sons, Michael Maulden of Oreana, IL and Matt of Decatur, IL; his mother, Rose (Jack) Crane of Decatur, IL; his companion of 15 years, Dana Floyd of Decatur, IL; five grandchildren, Bailey, Lizzy, Michael, Myia and Callie; one sister, Virgie (Danny) Walston of Oakley, IL; five brothers, Darrell (Sharon) Maulden of Silver Run, MS, Ray Maulden of Decatur, IL, Russell (Nancy) Maulden of Farmer City, IL, Gary (Mindy Miller) Maulden of Altona, IL and Barry (Jerilynn) Maulden of Knoxville, IL.
He was preceded in death by his father; one nephew, Jason Maulden and one great nephew, Landon Maulden.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Laney Maulden will be 10 a.m. Thursday, May 17, 2018, at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society 675 E Linton Ave, Springfield, IL 62703.
