Larry Beltz's Obituary
Larry Dean Beltz, 81, of Decatur passed away on Monday, July 14, 2014 in his home.
Larry was born on July 18, 1932 in Carterville, IL the son of Leo and Zola (Parmly) Beltz. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of Macon 8 A.F. & A.M. and member of the Valley of Springfield A.A.S.R. He was an electrician for 40 years working for the Wabash Rail Road, Firestone, and Revere Copper in Clinton. He also worked at the Crab Orchard Lake Boat & Yacht Club in Carterville. He married Linda Hurley on March 16, 1984 in Decatur, IL, she survives.
Larry is the loving father of Robert Beltz (Shirley) of Marion, IL; Barbara Brooks (Steve) of Decatur, IL; Roger Beltz of Cambria, IL; Arlen Skinner (Thersia) of Decatur, IL; Angela Langford (Nelson) of La Place, IL; Charles Skinner (Claira) of Laclede, MO; and John Skinner (Pebbles) of West Moreland, TN; sisters, Shirley Desatnik of Indianapolis, IN; Louise Beltz of Herrin, IL; 22 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Cindy Able, 5 brothers, and 3 sisters.
The family would like to thank the Harbor Light Hospice staff especially Beth, Sherry, Terri, Ashley and Magic Marilyn for all their care of Larry.
Honoring Larry’s wishes Cremation will take place at Graceland/Fairlawn Crematory. Private family services will be at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the family.
