Larry "Phil" Hambrecht's Obituary
Phil Hambrecht, 76, of Forsyth, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2017 in Decatur Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.
Phil was born on September 21, 1940 in Decatur, IL, the son of Lawrence and Martha Jo Hambrecht. He married Ruth Ann Brown in 1962.
He enjoyed cooking corn dogs, fishing, talking, hunting and telling stories. Phil was a member of the Macon County Historical Society and USWA Local 713. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1958 to 1963. He retired from Firestone in Decatur after 33 years of service and he also owned and operated Hambrecht Concessions from 1976 to 2012.
Phil leaves to cherish his precious memories, his wife Ruth of Forsyth; two sons, PJ of Shelbyville and Jamie of Maroa; one sister, Deborah (Kevin) Smith; five grandchildren, Jennifer Hambrecht, Nathan Hambrecht, Pharryn Hambrecht, Ashlynne Hambrecht and Chloe Hambrecht; four great-grandchildren, Aleeya, Alexia, Jaye and Alex; two nieces, Kelly (Kris) Bailey and Shelby (Jeff) Tate.
Phil was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service to honor the life of Phil will be held at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 6 PM with a visitation an hour before.
