Dad,
I pray that you are at peace and are standing within the gates of Heaven. I pray you are reunited with family and friends. As your son, I have some selfish resentment that I pray I can find repentance. As a Marine, we share a bond so strong that no matter how much lack of time we shared in person, we cannot be detached. I lost a really good buddy to friendly fire and seen some things (and did some things), but I know you did too and seen many more things that no man should have seen. May that weight be lifted from your shoulders Soldier and your sacrifices will be remembered and passed down for generations. Remember, if the Army and the Navy ever look on Heaven's scenes; they will find the gates are guarded by United States Marines! Meet you at the gates Dad! Love you.
