Larry C. Kippenhan's Obituary
Decatur – Larry C. Kippenhan, 85, of Decatur, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
The following was written by Larry.
I was born on April 23, 1940, in Decatur, IL, the son of Francis (F.C.) and Margaret Kippenhan. I was blessed to have accepted the Lord Jesus as his savior early in life. I did not make it easy for him. He has had to work in my life every day.
I have a wonderful wife, Susan Kippenhan. She is the best wife a man could have. Three children: Olen (K.J.) Kippenhan, Lurleen Kippenhan, and Dustin Kippenhan.
During my years with the United States Air Force and the Decatur Fire Department, I have had the privilege to work with and alongside some very fine people.
I said what I wanted to say, I did what I wanted to do, I went where I wanted to go, and I did it all whenever I wanted to do it. I have had eyes to see and ears to hear God and his creation. I have really enjoyed life. What more can you ask for.
In honor of Larry’s wishes, graveside services will be 10 am, Friday, May 9, 2025, at Graceland Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.gracelandfairlawn.com.
