Larry Dean Rogers' Obituary
Larry Dean Rogers, 71, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 12:15 A.M. on Friday (07-08-2022) in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, IL.
Larry was born on June 1, 1951, in Decatur, IL, the son of Donald Rogers and Barbara (Landacre) Rogers. He married Patricia P. Durbin on September 17, 1976 in Decatur, IL. She preceded him in death on May 24, 2014. Larry then married Qiongfang Huang in Decatur, IL. She survives him.
Larry was a Design Engineer at Caterpillar. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Larry was also a previous member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church Decatur, IL. He loved motorcycles, spending time in the outdoors, where he also did a lot of fishing and deer hunting.
He is survived by his wife, son Bill Rogers and wife Rachel of Iowa, LA, daughters Christy Rogers of Cahokia, IL and Cindy (Brent) Ward of Columbia, IL; grandchildren Tucker and Zachery Rogers, Tyler Smith, Breanna and Mark Tiarks, and Derrik, Devan, and Kelsey Ward.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Patricia, stepbrother Steve Cook, and sisters Nancy Cook and Diane Murray.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 12:00pm at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home with visitation from 11:00am until service time. Burial will be at Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, Illinois.
