Lee S. Durley's Obituary
Lee Samuel Durley, 83, of Decatur, IL passed away November 28, 2019 at his residence.
Lee was born September 4, 1936 in Jackson, MS, the son of Monroe Smith and Nellie (Thompson) Durley. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving for 8 years.
As a civilian, Lee was a cook in Jackson, MS. He served as a waiter at the Embassador and retired from the Decatur Club where he worked as a doorman.
Surviving are his sisters Freddie Lee Fox, Willie Bell Jones, both of Decatur, IL: brothers, Thomas Durley of Milwaukee, WI and George Durley of Long Beach, CA: best friends Peter and Tonya Fox
He was preceded in death by his Mother Nellie Durley, Father Monroe Smith, brothers, Monroe Durley, William Collins, Dan Collins, Oscar Parish and sisters, Mary Ann Durley, Luvina Collins and Lena Collins Nephew Karis C Foster Sr and his long time best friend chow chow.
Homegoing Celebration will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 10 – 11 AM Tuesday. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery.
