Lee Ann was a neighbor of ours for nearly 18 years and a very good one. We had frequent visits on the driveway, sitting on the front porch or in the living room. There are people in your life who make a big difference because they are part of the constellation that frames the world and she was one such person. She contributed much to our Hill Street block where we bought our first house, grew a garden, and raised our children. We had garage sales and block parties together, sharing the day to day things that make lives. We were very reluctant to move, but did so when our daughters, sharing a bedroom, were 8 and 12 years of age. Lee Ann was one of the reasons it was painful to leave that block. We visited some after our move but over time the distance overcame our good intentions. I regret that. She spoke often of you, Mary Claire and Steve and we did get to meet you on your visits home to visit Lee Ann and of course, your parents. Babe and Gene welcomed us initially to the block with a bouquet of flowers that we used on our wedding table, hosting families in our new house after the wedding at the church. I wish you the comfort of memory.
