Leo Grotjan's Obituary
Leo D. Grotjan, 89, of Flagler Beach, FL. formerly of Decatur passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2013 in Palm Coast, FL.
Leo was born May 26, 1923 in Decatur, IL, the son of John and Zelma (Beals) Grotjan. Leo proudly served his country during World War II in the Pacific and again during the Korean conflict era. Leo retired from the railroad industry after 42 years of service.
Leo is survived by his loving wife Wilma; sons, Ron (Karen ) Grotjan of Winter Haven, FL., Don (Linda) Grotjan of Hixson, TN.; 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, brother Lonnie (Mary) Grotjan of Decatur; step daughters, Alesia (Mitch) Bellak of West Palm Beach, FL., Joanne (Mike) Eppers of Wonder Lake, IL, and many other family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, Leo was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Elizabeth, daughter Florence, brother Leroy and grandson Ralph Douglas,
Services to celebrate Leo's life will be 11 a.m. Monday, January 21, 2013 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 1 hour before the service. Burial will be at Fairlawn Cemetery with Military Rites by the Macon County Honor G uard and conclude with the 'Flight Home Ceremony'. In lieu of flowers, please direct contributions to the Macon County Humane Society.
