Leona Quick's Obituary
Leona Quick, 90, of Decatur passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2013 in Rosewood Care in St. Charles, IL.
Leona was born on May 17, 1922 in Dunlap, TN the daughter of George W. and Mary Jane (Whitlow) Land. She married Lynn Quick on March 6, 1943 in Nashville, TN. He preceded her in death on September 18, 2001.
Surviving are her daughters, Patricia Lynn Quick of Albuquerque, NM; Janet Mansfield (Stephen) of Elburn, IL; Tamara J. Quick of Decatur, IL; sister, Marie Vaughn of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Richard Hoaglin (Krista), Laura Beck (Jeff), Stephanie Konen (Mike), Cara Mansfield, Drew Dixon, Sarah Rascon (David); great-grandchildren, Nathaniel, Jacob, Kate Lynn, Mia, Erika, Samantha, Kassidy, Dakota, Devon, and Matthew; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lynn, brothers, Avery Land and Quinton Land, and sister, Ruth Camp.
She enjoyed antiquing, Court TV, and Wheel of Fortune.
She gave us laughter and tears, but most of all love.
The family would like to give special thanks to granddaughter, Cara Mansfield for the countless hours of laughter, companionship, and loving care of Leona.
Bye Mom. We will be lonely – we love you to pieces.
Funeral service to celebrate Leona's life will be 2 PM Thursday, March 28, 2013 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 1-2 PM Thursday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Central Baptist Church.
