Decatur-A great man, passed away at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 in his home.
Leslie J. Russell, 78, of Decatur was born on October 2, 1932 in Decatur, IL the son of Kenneth Edward and Alberta Jeanette (Mac Anally) Russell. He was a Union Laborer for 55 years and a member of Laborers Union Local 159. He was a member of First Pilgrim Holiness Church, Moose Lodge and Decatur Trail Riders.
Surviving are his sons, Rick Russell of Toledo; Morgan Russell of Harristown; Everett Qualls (Jennifer) of Williamsville; daughters Toni Fuentes of Decatur; Lynn Jeanette Russell of Walker, LA; Lori Eleanor Keels (William) of Walker, LA; Laina Williams (Tom) of Decatur; brothers, Mitchell Russell of Alabama; Leland Russell of Elwin; sister, Billie Jump (Sam) of Georgia; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Bud and Harold, and infant sister.
Funeral service celebrating the life of Leslie J. Russell will be 12:30 pm Saturday, March 26, 2011 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5:00 ' 7:00 pm Friday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to donor's choice.
