Leslie E. Slack's Obituary
Leslie E. Slack Jr., 92, of Robinson formerly of Decatur, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2017 in his daughter’s home in Robinson.
Leslie was born April 17, 1924 in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Leslie Sr. and Gladys (Jewell) Slack. He proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Leslie was employed with Marvel-Schebler and BorgWarner retiring with over thirty years of service. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling especially to Colorado.
Leslie leaves behind his daughters Linda (Stephen) Wurth of Hartsburg and Debbie (Dwight) McDaniel of Robinson, grandsons Craig Wurth, Chad Wurth, Clint Wurth (fiancé Jen), Quintin (Amanda) McDaniel, and Jacob (Diane) McDaniel, and seven great-grandchildren.
Leslie was preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Esparaz and the nurses and staff with Lincolnland Hospice.
Services to celebrate Leslie’s life will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services. Burial with military honors conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Lincolnland Hospice.
