Lillian J. Jacoby's Obituary
Lillian J. Jacoby, 93, of Oreana, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 7, 2017 in her home with her family by her side.
Lillian was born March 16, 1924 in Beecher City, Illinois the daughter of Robert and Florence (Forbes) Norman. She worked for several years at Borg-Warner. Lillian was a member of Resurrection Life Church where she served over fifty years as a Sunday school teacher and ministered at nursing homes. She also pastored at the Pentecostal Church in Illiopolis. Her passion in life was witnessing to others about her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She married Elmer L. Jacoby on August 7, 1948 in Peola, Indiana. He preceded her in death on September 11, 2012.
Lillian leaves behind her daughters Carolyn (Larry) Bonnell of Oreana and Marilyn (Richard) Montague of Oreana, and son Robert (Janet) Jacoby of Oreana, nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Robert Norman, and sisters Hester “Mae” McBride and Alice Riley.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Khan and the nurses and staff with Safe Haven Hospice, caregivers Debbie Lewis, Breanna Livingood, Diane Mears, and Cheryl Mahnke, Pastor Jack Greenwood, Pastor Mike DeBrun and her church family at Resurrection Life for all of their compassionate care, prayers, and support.
Services to celebrate Lillian’s life will be 10:00 AM Saturday, May 13, 2017 in Resurrection Life Church, 1085 W McKinley Ave, Decatur. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM Friday, May 12, 2017 in the Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Resurrection Life Kids Kamp.
