Lillie M. Forbes' Obituary
Sullivan-Lillie M. Forbes, 83, of Shelbyville, passed away 4:20 pm Monday, May 24, 2010 at Mason Point in Sullivan.
Memorial services to celebrate Lillie's life will be 7:00 pm Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with Rev. John Fultz officiating. Interment will be private for family only on Friday in Graceland Cemetery concluding with the 'Flight Home' ceremony. Memorial donations may be directed to the American Diabetes Association. Lillie was born January 14, 1927 in Optima, Oklahoma, the daughter of Louis and Alice (Eaton) Klingsick. She was a graduate of Kingfisher High in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. She married Charles J. Forbes in 1942. Lillie was employed by Hi-Flyer Kite Factory in Decatur for 25 years, retiring in 1983. Charles preceded her in death July 7, 1971. Lillie later became a beloved companion with Mike Martin for 30 years until his passing. Lillie enjoyed gardening, playing poker, and she was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan.
Left behind to cherish her memories are her children Deanna Ramsey of Decatur, Mike and wife-Barbara Forbes of Sullivan, Jeffrey and wife-Ruth Forbes of Casey, IL. Her grandchildren Tina, Bev, Maria, Dick, Chrissy, Blake, Josh, Johnna, and Butch; 15 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Lillie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles, her beloved companion Mike Martin, her daughters Connie Naron and Cindy Forbes, three grandchildren Shane, Tony, and Angie, five brothers and three sisters.
