Linda Challans' Obituary
Linda Challans, 74, passed away at St. Mary’s hospital in Decatur Il on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. Linda was born on December 7, 1947 to Mary and Wilber Stanley.
Linda was a faithful member of Decatur Second Church of God for over 20 years. She loved spending time with her family. Even though she was not a biological mother she was mother to many of her nieces and nephews and like a grandmother to their children. Family was the joy of her life. She loved to feed the birds and squirrels and they looked forward to seeing her every day. She loved Doris Day movies, family game nights and all the family gatherings with pets included. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
Linda is survived by her brothers, Steven (Carol) and Harold (Karen) Stanley; sister, Sharon (Robert) Ewing; nieces, Shannon (Jason) Lynch, Sarah (Travis) Drury, Crystal Stanley, Little Linda Stanley, Viola Stanley, Roberta Stanley, Stephanie Stanley, Rebecca Stanley, Mary Stanley, Sherry Stanley and Tina Sanders; nephews, Steven “Boogie” Stanley, Jake Stanley, David Stanley, Joe Stanley, Sam Stanley, Harold Stanley Jr., Tony Stanley, Wilbur Stanley, Jerry Wane Stanley, Tommy Stanley and Donny Stanley; great-nieces and nephews “grandchildren”, Hannah, Alura, Jaclyn, Danny, Patrick, Bella, Kennedy, Eleanor, Caroline and Evander as well as numerous extended family and friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Donald, Gerald, Eugene and David Stanley and sister, Pamela Kropla.
A visitation will be held for Linda at the Second Church of God on Friday, March 4, 2022 from 3:00-4:00p.m. A funeral Service will be held also at the Second Church of God on Friday March 4, 2022 at 4:00 p.m.
